Formed won an architectural competition for a community enterprise project at the award winning Canning Town Caravanserai project. As part of this working with other stake holders we worked with a team of volunteers to see parts of the project realised; a covered workshop space made from construction waste sites all over London with sustainable features was built in 2013 and is now used by being the local community. The building is known as the Flitched Yard.

Tina is an active STEM ambassador supporting local schools with their science, technology, engineering and maths lessons. Recent activities undertaken include the production of furniture from construction waste and development of pavilions in Primrose Hill.

In addition Tina is a mentor as part of the RIBA’s Fluid mentoring program which seeks to increase and support diversity in the construction industry.

Historically, Formed have raised in excess of £700.00 for shelter as part of their Architect in the House scheme where we have undertaken a consultation with local people who are looking to undertake architectural work in exchange for a small donation to Shelter to support their great work for homeless people. As the impact of ongoing cuts are filtering through it is becoming increasingly evident that the work that Shelter undertakes is invaluable to those in need of a roof over their head and we are extremely happy to be involved in this way. A number of the consultations have developed into live jobs and these can be identified on our portfolio pages.
