Black History Month
As we find ourselves in the midst of Black History Month, we celebrate all Black Architects who have greatly contributed to the world’s architecture.
As an ethnic minority-owned architectural business, we strive to bring awareness of racism, discrimination and inequality that we face in the industry not just throughout October but all year round – check out our podcast on this from earlier in the year – https://zcu.io/DOlX 🎙
We believe that Black History is not taught enough at architecture schools and there is a lack of awareness raised around some of the historical stately homes that featured in our respective history lectures and their links to the slave trade and the legacy impact of this. Perhaps now we should encourage for this to change and be part of the context of the teaching through the education system so that we can spread awareness about this.
